Times are challenging.

The cost of healthcare is increasing.

Employers are looking for ways to maximize the benefit dollars they are currently spending.

Because of this, the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties did their "due diligence" in finding the BEST voluntary benefit company that they could bring to their member firms.  The conclusion was that Colonial Life had the expertise, the service and the overall benefit offerings that they could feel confident would serve their member firms.

With that, Colonial Life is the endorsed carrier for voluntary benefits for MBA member firms.  In return, Colonial Life has garnered certain exclusive member benefits that MBA member firms cannot get anywhere else...other than being a member of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.

The following exclusive benefits apply to MBA member firms and their employees:

  • Eligible employees:  Colonial Life normally has to have a minimum of 3 employees to establish the "group billing".  With MBAKS member firms, they lowered this eligibility to TWO employees.
  • Disabiltiy insurance rate for Builders and Remodelers:  Colonial Life's "flagship" product is disability insurance.  MBA member firms will get a 14% discount on disabilty insurance versus non-member firms.
  • Disability insurance for other specific firms:  Certain industries will also be granted an 15% discount on disability and a partial list of these industries include:
    • Millworkers
    • Building maintenance
    • Window Cleaning
    • Numbeous other industries/companies
  • Special "guaranteed issue" exceptions for companies with 10 or more employees:  MBA member firms will get exclusive guarantee issue offers for companies with 10 or more employees.  This plan is extremely popular with companies with high deductible plans and normally Colonial Life only provides "guaranteed issue" for 25 or more employees.
While the MBA is aware that some member firms may not get exclusive pricing, what's important is that they evaluated the voluntary carriers and they are aware that, without these exceptions, that Colonial Life stood above them all.  With premium, service, value-added services, etc.  To learn more about the true "value proposition" that Colonial Life brings to member firms, visit the section titled "Services" and then learn about the benefits communication capabilities and voluntary benefits that make Colonial Life unique and a powerhouse in the arena of worksite benefits and services.
